Catherine Swift is a Director of the Mara Group. Catherine handles law firm and in-house searches for a range of clients throughout the Northeast. Before joining the Mara Group, Catherine was a partner in a prominent executive search firm in New York. After four years of handling both executive and legal search engagements, she decided to focus her recruiting expertise in the legal profession exclusively. Catherine has extensive experience recruiting for law firm shareholder and associate positions and building legal departments in a range of specializations. She has conducted General Counsel search engagements for both public and privately-held companies as well as non-profit organizations. She spent the first two years of her career at Winthrop, Stimson Putnam & Roberts (now Pillsbury Winthrop LLP) in New York City, creating the first Recruitment Director role, followed by six years as the Director of Legal Staff for Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft. When Catherine left Cadwalader’s New York office, she founded a search firm which handled legal and executive search for a broad client base serving primarily the New England market. Clients included prominent law firms, large public and privately-held companies, start-up enterprises and portfolio companies of private equity firms. Catherine also served as the head of Global Talent Acquisition for Cole Haan, a subsidiary of Nike at that time. She graduated from Boston University cum laude with distinction, and attended the Harvard Program on Negotiation and completed the Institute for Civic Leadership’s one year program. Catherine also served on the board of Youth Alternatives, Inc.

Catherine lives in New York. She is a dedicated swimmer and paddle tennis player.
